We lived in Dresden for 9 months.

Hi, I am Eric Muller. My wife and I lived in Dresden from September, 2008 to June, 2009. We lived in a villa in Kleinzschachwitz and worked at the MPI. If you are going to travel to Dresden, poke around my posts and you will discover fantastic places to visit.

The World's Greatest Daylong Bike Ride -Pt. 2

Fully refreshed from the wurst, beer and plum kuchen, we pedaled on. The long stretches of woods reminded us of New England, and taking the path less traveled. Well, less traveled by Americans, there were plenty of people of all ages on the trail. People in their 70's shared the Elbeweg with families with young children. All enjoying the warm fall day.
We stopped so that I could take pictures. Trish took out her weapon against fatigue, an Elbe Power Bar. The power bars are made by our friends at the Siemank Backerei.

Before long we were looking across river at the Bastei.

Last week we were up on the highest rock, half way between the building on the left and the bridge on the right. If you look closely at the picture you can see people on the top of the rocks. The view from up there took our breath away. The view from below was dream like. More about our trip up to Bastei in another blog.

Just past Rathen we rested to admire the lush panorma at this elbow in the Elbe.
Looking back.
