We lived in Dresden for 9 months.
Hi, I am Eric Muller. My wife and I lived in Dresden from September, 2008 to June, 2009. We lived in a villa in Kleinzschachwitz and worked at the MPI. If you are going to travel to Dresden, poke around my posts and you will discover fantastic places to visit.

First Hours
Our place is wonderful. You go up a winding spiral staircase to the second floor. First picture is the entrance. If you go straight you are in the living room. If you continue straight ahead is a beautiful sun room filled with flowers. If when you come in, instead of going straight you go right, you enter the kitchen. Off the kitchen is the bedroom and the bathroom. If when you come in you go to the left you enter a study furnished with costumes and pictures from performances, as well as a desk, and through this room is the guest room. So big and delightful.
But the one thing that is unimaginably great are our landlords. They stocked our refrigerator with many essentials, they put fresh fruit in the living room, staples in the pantry. On the stove was a pot of delicious home made chicken noodle soup. They helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. They volunteered to drive us to the bank tomorrow to open our account. They are remarkably warm, friendly and gracious people. There are three. A daughter, who offered to drive us and helped fix our internet. She is the only one who has a pretty good grasp of English. She lives in an adjoining house. And below us are her parents. Turns out her parents are very well known singers and performers in light opera here in Dresden.
The whole trip went so smoothly. After unpacking and having the soup, oh and the delicious cake they left for us, we took a walk down to the Elbe and a bit around town. You know I have been up for 28 hours, and it is time to go to bed. It is 8:30 PM. Although everywhere is would be posted as 20:30. More tomorrow.
