We lived in Dresden for 9 months.
Hi, I am Eric Muller. My wife and I lived in Dresden from September, 2008 to June, 2009. We lived in a villa in Kleinzschachwitz and worked at the MPI. If you are going to travel to Dresden, poke around my posts and you will discover fantastic places to visit.

Herbst und Weinfest at Radebeul
Radebeul is a city just north of Dresden. An easy ride on the train: S-Bahn S1, and off at the Haltestelle Radebeul West- not the first Radebeul stop. Again some random wonderful German rescued us from making a mistake.
In the fall Radebeul has an annual Fall and Wine Festival. I will tell of our Sunday adventure over the course of the next few days.
First, as you can see from the pictures, the wine is very good. For a couple of Euros they serve you a small glass. You make a deposit on the glass, and keep it with you as you travel about. You can always exchange it for a fresh glass. At the end of the day you go to any booth and get your deposit back. What can be easier.
They are celebrating the grape harvest. There is lots of Federweißer for sale, young wine that is very sweet and not very alcoholic. Fun to drink, but not nearly as much fun as going around and tasting the Rieslings.
As you know I am usually fearless when it comes to food and drink. But even I stayed away from those odd bottles of obstwein (in the photo), fruit wine, that were everywhere.
